What does taking CBD feel like?

We’ve all been there. Starting with a few drops a day and you think to yourself, am I just wasting my money?

Unfortunately, there is no straight answer to this. It really depends on the person. :sad_trombone:

First, you need to make sure what you’re taking is actually CBD. You may be drinking hotdog water and not even know it. Always buy from a reputable source.

With CBD you should feel that your stress and anxiety should go down within an hour or so of taking a tincture sublingually (under the tongue for 30 seconds to a minute).

What you should feel

Keep in mind that this topic is highly subjective. You shouldn’t feel any immediate sensation. This is not “getting stoned.” Possible effects of taking CBD are a feeling of being…

  • Alert and ready

  • Calm

  • Sober — this is non-psychoactive after all

  • More aware

How much CBD should I take?

If you’re considering taking CBD you should consider taking it slow to start. Your first dose may be only 5mgs. Read the label of your product to see how much you need to take in order to get only 5mgs. It may be a few drops, or it could be half a dropper full.

If you don’t feel anything that day, try again the next morning by doubling the amount to 10mgs. If no effect again, add another 10mgs each day until you feel something, or you’ve reached 40-50mgs.

If you get to about 40-50mgs and you aren’t feeling anything, it’s possible that you have a high tolerance to cannabinoids. If that’s the case, you may still get the benefits of taking the oil, it’s just that you don’t have any noticeable changes in the first days.

If after a week you don’t feel anything has improved you may want to experiment with higher doses, but it can get pricey. Keep in mind that according to a well-known study humans can tolerate doses of 1,500mgs a day, so don’t feel like you need to restrict your consumption if you are truly set on taking it.
